DEBATE COMPETITION

A Debate competition was organized for the students of class VIII. The aim of the competition was to hone public speaking skills of the  students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The speakers spoke eloquently on the topic Skill v/s Competencies.  The participants speaking for both ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion debated enthusiastically Mehal, Riti and Jahanvi of section A,B,C of VIII standard bagged first, second and third prizes.

FIT INDIA MOVEMENT

Students of class XI conducted a special assembly on 'Fit Body, Fit Mind and Fit Environment'. Through their assembly they elucidate the importance of healthy food in one's life. Eating a healthy diet is not about strict limitations or depriving yourself of the food you love, rather it is about feeling great having more energy and improving your health. Regular exercise, yoga or sports on the playground not only improve span of attention and memory but also reduces stress. Class XI students made us, aware the benefits of 'Surya Namaskar' through the display. Students of all the classes learned 'Surya Namaskar' and other exercises and took oath to inculcate in their lives.

HINDI DEBATE

Hindi debate for classes IX and XI was conducted in the assembly ground.  There were 6 participants from each class. All the students spoke very well with full confidence and proper diction. The participants spoke for both ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion and debated enthusiastically. It was an effective and impactful discussion wherein the youngsters understood few articles from our constitution and their importance.

OBSERVED NATONAL INTEGRATION WEEK AND COMMUNAL HARMONY FLAG DAY - 19th – 25th Nov. 2019

In order to provide opportunity to re-affirm our age old traditions and faith in the values of tolerance, co-existence and brotherhood in a multicultural and multi religious society , National integration week was observed in the school. Posters were put up in the corridors and bulletin boards highlighting unity in diversity of our country. Special attention was drawn towards the inherent strength and resilience of our nation to withstand actual and potential threats to the eclectic and secular fabric of our country and nurture a spirit of communal harmony in its widest sense.

This communal Harmony week also coincided with the observation of Communal Harmony. Flag day on November 25th, 2019. Students of secondary and senior secondary section raised fund in order to provide financial assistance for relief and rehabilitation of children rendered orphan or destitute in communal, caste, ethics    or terrorist, violence. Later on Flag stickers were distributed to all the students.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY - NATURE CARE

Class XI conducted special assembly on ‘Nature love’ on 19 November 2019. ‘Nature provides enough to satisfy every man’s need but not every man’s greed.’ Based on this theme, class XI portrayed the importance of nature in human life. We should care for our nature, make it peaceful, keep it clean and prevent it from the destruction so that we can enjoy foster its beauty and bounty. The message given by class XI through their meaningful assembly should be followed by every individual.

VARIOUS COMPETITIONS ON THE THEME - FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS AND DUTIES

Various Competitions on the theme constitution – Fundamental rights and duties was conducted in the assembly ground on 19 November 2019. Students of classes VI – VIII participated class VI students had fancy dress (leaders) competition. They portrait various freedom fighter like Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi Bai, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and many more spoke few lines on them. The effort and hard work of children was highly commendable. Students of class VII made poster on fundamental rights and duties. The creativity of students was worth mentioning. Class VIII students had hindi speech compettio0n and the topic was ‘Maulik Adhikar aur kartavya’. Students spoke very well with confidence. Results were declared soon after the competition and words of appreciation were given by Rev. CHILDREN'S DAY SPECIAL PROGRAM & PICNIC

CHILDREN’S DAY SPECIAL PROGRAM & PICNIC
The celebration began with a prayer service conducted by the teachers. It was then followed by a colourful dance. An entertaining skit by the male staff overwhelmed the students as they cheered their teachers when they saw them on stage and laughed boisterously at their jokes. The school had also organized a picnic for classes VI – XII. Different wings were taken to different spots. The whole school was full of hustle and bustle when the students of different classes were seen making their way towards their respective buses. Class XI & XII visited film city and enjoyed clicking photos and then reached Ganesha Resort where classes IX & X were already tapping their feet on the DJ Dance floor. The students of class VI – VIII were taken to Udaigarh Resort. Even the teachers could not resist the living temptation of the dance floor. Everyone had a big smile on their faces indicating they had a great fun.

MATHS & COMPUTER QUIZ

On 8th November 2019 Maths and Computer quiz was conducted in the school auditorium. Class VIII students from each house participated in the maths quiz. There were four rounds to test their logical thinking, creative and imaginative skills and knowledge. Girls of yellow house won the trophy. Thereafter computer quiz was conducted besides participants, audience were also actively involved. The zeal and enthusiasm of students was with appreciating.

INTER-SCHOOL GAMES AND SPORTS COMPETITIONS
The students of Sophia Senior Secondary School participated in various Inter school games and sports competitions in the month of November. Classes IX-XII took participation.
The students had participated in the under 14, under 17 and under 19 categories for basketball, handball and Table Tennis. Each time member received a certificate and memento as they were the winners of handball team, basketball and table tennis teams. Indeed a proud moment for all Sophians to cherish.
