Summer Camp - VI to VIII

Making this lockdown phase a little manageable for our students, the school organized an online summer camp for the children. Under this move, various online fun learning and art adventurous activities were scheduled for the students to keep them occupied at home and free from anxiety. Keeping the current scenario in mind, activities like Yogic exercises, Motivational talk, and Environmental care freshened up their hearts and souls and replenished their minds with positivity and calmness. The activities certainly breathed new life into their anxious minds.

 

An Art sketching prevailing moods
Another fun-filled activity was planned for our children where they could express their emotions using colors and pens. Action speaks louder than words. A true example set by our children where they outlined the current situation using Warli Art Form, Drawing, and Painting. Their magical imagination undoubtedly flabbergasted everyone. The way children penciled their ideas of the prevailing predicament into the form of paintings is applaudable. The children came out with multifarious ideas wherein they portrayed the supreme power and the frontline workers as rescuers that made everyone ineffable. 

Live, Love, and Eat
Food brings people together. The lockdown has given us a lot of time to spend quality time with our family members, sharing comfort and love by being united. In the prevailing situation what else could bring a smile on the faces than cooking? Our Non-Flame cooking classes brought the families together and spread happiness when the children cooked multifarious varieties of food items with relish amidst the pandemic.

Impersonating the Qualities During the camp, the students got the opportunity to represent frontline workers who have played a significant part in the pandemic and also illustrated the importance The cheesier, the better of masks, sanitizer, healthy lungs, yoga by imitating the qualities surprisingly.

Best out of waste
Recycling unwanted things into useful things plays an important part in one’s life. Only creative minds can give birth to this extraordinary idea of using unwanted material in a useful way. Keeping the creativity and the essence of recycling in consideration, an activity on ‘Best out of Waste’ was conducted to keep the children occupied in productive things during the lockdown

Learning Online Tools

The world is unexpectedly going through a brunt of Covid-19 that brought the world into disarray. Having lost touch with the outside world, people are relying completely either on smartphones, laptops, or computers for work or entertainment. This has created a necessity to educate the children as well as the people of all age groups about using online tools effectively and quickly. To give a thought to the need of today's world,students were made familiar with new online tools and theiruses.

Eid-ul-Fitr and Bikaner Foundation Day

‘Pray, Care, Love, Smile, and Celebrate with one another.’
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and Bikaner Foundation Day the students of Classes
IX and X conducted prayers and took part in a Poster Making Competition. The
auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr falls after a month of fasting, praying, and
engaging in humanitarian activities such as feeding the underprivileged during the
holy month of Ramzan. Hitachi Lunia of Class X A in her speech said that today's
world combating COVID–19 pandemic demands this festival to be the celebration
of boundless spirit of kindness and charity, renunciation and sacrifice and
profound love and compassion.

National Technology Day.

India observes National Technology Day on May 11 to mark the anniversary of the
Pokhran nuclear tests of 1998. The students of class XI A , Manvi Verma, Isha
Sharma, Disha Agarwal, Tanvi Swami and Tejaswini Soni submitted their views on
‘Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future,’ in the form of essays and
articles.

Mother's Day (Second Sunday of May)

It's a cliché, but it's true: the greatest Mother's Day gift you can offer your mother is your time.Sophians celebrated Mother's Day to honour their mothers. Ever since the pandemic started— and its resultant lockdowns — the period has been difficult, and it continues to be so, especially, for mothers. Tasked with taking care of the house and juggling many responsibilities, mothers are often left exhausted.

This Mother’s Day, the celebrations were bound at home, as the city grapples with
the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and is under a curfew. No matter the age, we all share deep bonds with our mothers and Mother’s Day is all about making them feel special. The students of class XI expressed their love for their mothers through handmade Mother’s Day cards with sweet messages, baking cakes and puddings- to
say why moms need to be celebrated.

Our students of classes VI-VIII commemorated Mother's Day in their thoughtful ways. To make the day an unforgettable one, Our students dedicated the day to their mothers and enjoyed the day wholeheartedly by expressing their love and respect. The students helped their mothers in their household chores, recited poems, sang songs, and expressed their sentiments.

World Red Cross Day.

'Together we are unstoppable'.
World Red Cross Day is celebrated on May 8 every year. World Red Cross
Society provides for food shortages, natural disasters, wars as well as diseases of
an epidemic.A large pool of volunteers of Indian Red Cross Society are undertaking activities in cooperation with the local government in the fight against COVID19.
On World Red Cross Day, Sophians paid tribute to the humanitarian agency for
their great contribution for helping people in need. A poster making activity was organized for the students of Class IX . Students made posters on topics like world peace, humanity, faith and hope.They also spoke on the significance of the day in their online class.

Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti

The students of class XII paid tribute to the composer of
NATIONAL ANTHEM, great philosopher & writer, Nobel
Laureate, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his birth
anniversary. They expressed their views on ‘The Relevance
of Tagore in Today’s World.’

Helper’s Day.

“The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.”

‘Happy May Day’ to the workers! Workers are the invisible backbone of a nation,
as a nation is only able to stand strong because of them. This is the second May
Day during COVID-19 and hence as dark as it was in 2020, if not darker. The
students of class IX and XI prepared a special online prayer service for the worker
class. Speech by Siya Jain and Pranati Goswami of class X-C, Recitation and Posters
by the students expressing their gratitude to all the helpers were displayed online.

To encourage our students’ imagination and enrich their social development
skills, classes VI-VIII celebrated Helpers’ Day virtually. Children from class VI-VIII recited Dohe, performed dances, depicted different community characters in their costumes, spoke in honor of their efforts, and articulated the love and respect towards them. The teachers explained to the children the significance of Helpers Day during their online classes and allowed few children to speak about the same.

FAREWELL CLASS XII

To enthral the devotion of festive spirit ,Sophia School Bikaner celebrated farewell party for the students of class XII on 31 January 2020 in the school premises. On this occasion all the students of class XII registered their enthusiastic presence to make the event memorable. There was a fine amalgamation of Eastern and Western dance presentations by class XI students.

It was indeed a memorable day to cherish. The function culminated with  group photographs and scrumptious lunch. The enthusiastic seniors were bound to take back wonderful memories of the day. A token of love was given to all the outgoing students, the day was filled with nostalgia, fun and excitement!

A RALLY ON EDUCATION FOR ALL

The students of class VI actively participated in a rally in order to spread the message that Education is a fundamental human right, without which capabilities for a decent life and effective participation in society are less likely to be developed. All the students participated enthusiastically making sure that the rally leaves an impact on people.

A VISIT TO A BLIND

A few student representatives from classes VI – XI visited the blind school in the New Shiv Bari area on 28th Nov. 2019. They were accompanied by the principal Sr. Leena. Students were taught through special papers and were writing using special machines. They were well disciplined and were trying to learn more and more without thinking about their physical disorder. Our students learnt discipline, respect for teachers and how to stay happy in any circumstances. There differently abled students deserve our love and sincere appreciation.
